NEED TO KNOW: Parting Your Hair

As we mature, we get to know ourselves better. We become more comfortable knowing what’s best for us as individuals. Whether it’s the colors that look best on our skin tone, which diets work best for our lifestyle, or the hair length that suits us, we have to learn which fads to part from and which to part with.

Even the smallest details can make the biggest difference when it comes to feeling your best, so it’s important to get to know the looks that flatter you! The same way that high waisted pants might be more flattering to your figure, a side part might be more flattering to your face shape. 

Knowing which side to choose is a fun thing to experiment with, and we’re here to make sure you find out which one suits you best!

CENTER

A center part will elongate the face, giving rounder face shapes a more slim appearance. Center parts will best accompany a long layered cut, layers that frame the face, or a clean blunt-bang.

 

DIAGONAL

A diagonal part is great for volumizing finer hair, and softening a squared face shape or strong jawline. 

SIDE

A side part will aide in creating fullness, accommodating a widow’s peak, or softening stronger facial features – think long forehead, strong cheekbones, and pointed chins.

ALL BACK

Some of you were just born to be wild and you have the natural texture to prove it! With naturally textured hair, there’s no part necessary. Aside from textured hair, pulling the hair back without a part is flattering to an oval or oblong face shape.
