While we’ll spend money on the right tools and styling products, sometimes we forget that our shampoo is just as important! Shampoo creates the foundation for our hair and hairstyle, creating the building blocks for all the other products we use. Ever forget your toiletries and end up having to use a cheap hotel shampoo when traveling? Well, we’ll bet your strands didn’t like it. Imagine doing that every day and not even knowing it. We want your hair to look it’s best, and when you’re using the right products for you, you’ll have to fight with it less. So we’ve done the dirty work and rounded up the best shampoo for every hair type below.
Dry hair types may look frayed or fried on the ends. Your strands may feel coarse and get tangled easily. We suggest using R+Co Atlantis Moisturizing Shampoo for deep hydration as it cleanses.
Frizzy hair often needs a silicone based shampoo to create slick hydration. Our favorite is Love Shampoo from Davines which softens and hydrates.
Overprocessed hair means hair that has been colored and styled too much and is dehydrated and damaged. This means you need to build the hair back up- making it stronger and softer. We love Inphenom Shampoo for hair that really needs healing.
Limp hair falls flat no matter what you do to it. Most shampoos can be too heavy, causing it to fall even more flat. We suggest using Clear Volumizing Root Boost Shampoo for extra lift at the scalp.
Thick hair often struggles to get as clean as it needs because there’s just so much hair- finding a shampoo that can really clean is rough! That’s why we like Prospector Co Clarifying Shampoo for a deep clean.
Oily hair types need a clarifying shampoo to balance the scalp and rid the hair of excess sebum. Try Davines Rebalancing Shampoo for a treatment that works to balance oil production.
Curly hair is the trickiest of them all. Every head of curly hair is different, but ALL curly hair needs moisture. Stay safe and use Deva Curl No Poo Cleanser.
Aging hair is lacking the antioxidants it once had, creating a dull appearance. Bring back the luster it once had with Oribe Shampoo for Brilliance and Shine.
Healthy hair needs something that can cleanse the hair without over drying and hydrate enough without being heavy. We suggest using Sachajuan Normal Hair Shampoo to keep your strands healthy.
Blonde hair needs a shampoo that can maintain the color’s vibrancy. The wrong shampoo can turn the hair brassy or green. Try Kevin Murphy Blonde.Angel.Wash Shampoo to keep your light pieces bright.
