Interviewing for a new job can be super stressful. Before you get to make a verbal impression on your potential new boss, the first real impression you make is with how you look. A chic and professional look is key to leaving a lasting #girlboss impression.

THE HIGH PONY

A classic, professional look that never goes out of style. Feel powerful and tall with this sleek updo.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

TO STYLE:

  1. Flip head over and spray hairspray liberally all over, then smooth towards the crown of your hair with your smoothing brush.
  2. Secure with a hair elastic or bungee (if you have thick hair, split hair into two sections and create two ponys that you can combine together).
  3. Take a strand of hair from underneath your pony and wrap it around your hair tie, securing with a bobby pin.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  1. Spray hair evenly with your heat protectant spray and create a deep side part over the arch of one eyebrow.
  2. Section into two parts from the ears up.
  3. Begin curling in one inch sub sections towards the face, then pin into a pincurl to let cool.
  4. Release top section and repeat.
  5. Spray liberally with hair spray and let cool for at least 15-20 minutes.
  6. Remove clips, then brush out curls with your Mason Pearson brush that has been misted with hairspray.
  7. Use smoothing cream to tuck one side behind the ear and to control any loose strands.
