Some might say a summer sunset is the magic hour in Manhattan, but fashion and beauty buffs would disagree every time, and say it happens on the first Monday in May—when celebs makes waves of wonder at the ritzy rendezvous that is Met Gala. This year’s theme, Comme des Garçons: Art of the In-Between, honors Rei Kawakubo, the founder of Comme des Garçons, whose best known for shunning fashion norms. While the bougie ball’s purpose is to raise money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute, there was no shortage of striking beauty statements on this year’s *blue* carpet.
