Spring is a time for new beginnings, and for us, the start of longer and warmer days spells the perfect excuse to change up our hair color. These hues are seriously #mood, and will make the transition from frigid to scorching that much sweeter.
Originally spotted on Mrs. Hailey Bieber, dusty pink is rose’s edgy older cousin. Trying on the hue is the perfect way to rise above the winter doldrums, without being too saccharine about it.
Colorist Matt Rez has the key to going ginger without pledging your allegiance as a red head. To get this vibrant spring-friendly shade of ginge, he applies Redken Shades EQ: 2 parts 9AA, 1 part 6AA, 2 caps 8GG, 2 caps of yellow kicker, and 1 cap of orange kicker at the roots, and then glosses all over with Redken Shades EQ: 2 parts 9AA, 1 part 6AA, 2 caps yellow kicker and 2 caps of orange kicker for 15 minutes, before he rinses, shampoos, and conditions.
Just because spring has officially sprung-eth, doesn’t mean you can’t go darker. Midnight black is always an option for upping the ante on sexiness, just shy of summer.
Created by Nine Zero One Salon stylist Riawna Capri, Paris Jackson’s new shade is the ultimate fast track out of winter. Speaking on the color, Riawna noted that Paris, “traded out her brunette chocolate to get back to her sunkissed, glow vibes. Now that the LA rain is almost gone, and the sun is finally coming out… it was time to make her hair sparkle again!”
Emerald City Cerulean
Wake up! It’s spring! Not for the dye shy, this ultra saturated shade of cerulean turquoise—meets the Land of Oz—is a definite win.
A pastel blend is always pretty, but primary colors that exist together with all the gestalt of a master painting, is really something unique. This look by stylist Luigi Martini is a great example of our new rainbow request.
Bling out your mane with silver, whether you go ombre, highlights, or decide to lightenen up your whole head, the shiny effect is everything.
Hint of Violet
Festival season is right around the corner, but that doesn’t mean you need to don a wig at your next job interview. Instead, get yourself a shade of violet that does both. This hue is dark enough that you don’t need to defend the fact you mean business, but when the light hits you’ve got pure gemstone perfección.
