It turns out that some of our fave hair brands are crafted right in our very own backyard—you don’t need to look far to find all-American haircare. To get in the Independence Day spirit, we’re paying homage to these homegrown, made in the US hair lines—many of which are naturally-sourced (serious bonus)! Here are the brands we’ll be spritzing, slathering and straightening with, this July 4th.
CHI decided to bring their products back to the US in 2008; the beloved line is a hair tool and styling go-to. One of our faves is their 5-star 1’ Cermaic Flat Iron.
The much-loved pro line is enriched with botanicals to deliver nourishing ingredients to strands, adding shine and softness to any Independence Day.
It’s a 10 Haircare
Created and fully owned by esteemed hair stylist Carolyn Aronson, It’s a 10 packs ten crucial haircare benefits into every bottle—consider it an all-in-one, like this Miracle Repair Conditioner.
Founded by Jana Blankenship, who grew up in the coastal town of Sorrento, Maine, the line is a nod to summers spent in nature. Currently operating out of the Hudson Valley, NY, Captain Blankenship relies on domestic ingredients, including cold pressed organic plant oils, flowers, seaweeds, sea salt and organic essential oils to keep locks in check.
NuMe is all about options – there’s nothing more American than that. The brand features over 200 products, from curling wands to irons and serums. Every hot tool is made from the best, including 100% ceramic and tourmaline ceramic materials, far infrared technology, negative ion technology, floating plates and AC engines.
Founder Lisa Price was inspired by her mother Carol to create beauty and hair products in their Brooklyn, NY kitchen—and the rest is history. The all-natural line is sulfate, paraben and petrolatum free – and still in the family.
Founded in Harlem and still made in the US, the company continues to rely on all natural shea butter to create their diverse product line.
The brand has grown tremendously since its launch in 2014, and it’s easy to see why. Mielle believes in a “roots to results” ethos when it comes to haircare, and that the healthier the ingredients, the healthier your hair. In spite of the growth, Mielle has stuck to its own all-American roots!
Innersense Organic Beauty
Made from certified organic ingredients that don’t compromise on effectiveness, these luxurious formulations “create a love story” between you and your strands – oh la la!
Raw Hair Organics
The Raw Hair Organics line was created out of a quest to find high-performing, yet chemical-free products. Stylist and Founder Melanie Nickels saw the need for the line after her husband was diagnosed with cancer, which was linked to his exposure to toxic chemicals. Consider this all-natural line the answer to toxin-free, great haircare.
FLAWLESS by Gabrielle Union
All-American woman, Gabrielle Union, created her FLAWLESS line specifically for textured hair. Formulated with argan, avocado and marula oil, all products are sustainably sourced and cruelty-free.
The moody sisters are moms—which may be why they understand how important it is to get the most out of your time. Though a skincare and cosmetics line, this handmade, natural dry shampoo works wonders—and you can even use it on little ones.
