We’re not sure when tomboy style really started, but we know leading ladies Diane Keaton, Lauren Hutton and Jane Birkin made it super chic by wearing menswear with an effortless and confident attitude (who could forget Guido Palau‘s masculine-inspired manes for Alexander Wang at NYFW last month?!). It’s no longer unusual to compliment a woman on her outfit and find it’s from the men’s section of J.Crew, H&M, or TopShop. From bomber jackets to boyfriend jeans, men’s style is having a moment in our wardrobes…so why not let it influence our manes too? See below for some of our favorite interpretations of male #manespiration.

Try using Macadamia’s Tousled Texture Finishing Spray. It adds a very soft, workable texture into the hair while maintaining grip and hold for any style.

Sprinkle a little of Bumble & Bumble’s Pret-A-Powder at the root of your section and rub it in with your fingers before back combing. This will add an extra oomph and long-lasting hold to your bump.

Amika’s Perk Up Dry Shampoo quickly absorbs oils so you don’t need to use it in excess, and it’s formulated with ingredients that not only refresh and deodorize, but will strengthen strands and revitalize volume without a trace of that white residue we all know and dislike.

Apply Bumble & bumble’s Bb Gel to small sections at the root and use your fine-tooth comb along with the nozzle of your blowdryer to set your hair in the desired direction.

Oribe’s Fiber Groom Elastic Texture Paste is the perfect his and her product. Rub a dab of this between your fingers and add to the ends of your hair for desired pieciness and separation.
