We know that sometimes, you want to achieve a look/style that’s been created with hair’s best-of-the-best products without the hefty price tag that comes along with it. Enter, the Mane Addicts version of a splurge/save or in other words, a collection of budget-friendly dupes for a few of this year’s hottest hair products.
One of our favourites from the Oribe collection is the Dry Texturizing Spray which acts almost as texturing spray/dry shampoo combo while adding both volume & grip. We like the RUSK Texture Dry Finishing spray as a dupe because it steers clear of the hair spray category and instead focuses on volume & lift with a natural finish.
The Christophe Robin Scrub Shampoo is an extremely unique product that cleanses and exfoliates your scalp (scalp is skin too!) while adding much needed moisture to your hair and while there are currently no similar products on the market, we suggest Apple Cider vinegar, a completely natural way to treat your scalp and seal split ends all at once. Check it out!
We love the Living Proof No Frizz Styling Creme, especially for curly/thick hair, because it smooths and conditions without weighing the hair down. The John Frieda Secret Touch Up Creme makes a great alternative because it’s also very lightweight and focuses on conditioning without looking too oily. A little goes a long way!
Nothing creates the ‘I’ve been at the beach all day’ sexy textured hair quite like the real thing, but using the Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray certainly comes close. It uses salt-water to add volume and texture and is great for low maintenance guys and gals. Although there are a lot of similar looking products out there, we like the LUSH Sea Spray which boasts natural ingredients (because so does the ocean), adds a touch of shine & has a fresh neroli-scent.
The super-luxurious Mason Pearson Brushes are made with the finest, premium-grade boar bristle, which is gentle to the hair and scalp and is known for gently detangling while creating beautifully touchable texture. There aren’t many brushes that compare to Mason Pearson but one that does, and is becoming known in it’s own right as a significantly cheaper dupe, is the Sonia Kashuk Brush which is available at Target for less than $20!
Colorist Rita Hazan developed this revolutionary product to easily cover your roots and extend the life of your color without staining your hair and clothes. If you’re looking for something similar, Everpro Gray Away is a great option because it comes in an aerosol spray can just like Rita’s version, covers well and doesn’t look unnaturally dull like some other options so it will match the rest of your hair.
