Getting 48 models prepped and ready for a fashion show is no easy fete. Throw in thousands of fresh roses, birds, bows, crowns and 48 completely unique hairstyles and you have yourself a serious situation. Such was the scene backstage at Rodarte, where TRESemme’s Odile Gilbert carefully hand sewed roses into the models’ hair, crafting completely one-of-a-kind looks for Rodarte’s return to the runway after two seasons away in Paris.
Gorgeous blooms from Joseph Fresh in Los Angeles in the shades of crimson, canary, baby pink, and sprayed metallics were used to create these rose sculpted master pieces, which took Odile five hours to prep and ready each and every model for the show. Her technique varied–there was sewing, pulling, and twisting, and she even knotted the hair to create texture and grit for the haute couture accouterments to hang onto. It was truly a spectacle watching the iconic French hairstylist drumming up fresh new looks over and over again for each model–what do you think of Rodarte’s over-the-top rose moment?
