What’s the most stolen product from your kit?

Oribe’s Dry Texturizing Spray, for some reason, that one is the first thing to walk away.

What’s the most underrated hair hack or trick?

The bungee technique with 2 bobby pins and 2 rubber bands.

What’s the most overrated hair hack or trick?

Flat iron beach waves.

What’s one expensive product that’s worth every penny? Why?

The Mason Pearson Popular Hair Brush. I’ve had mine for years and with a bit of TLC it will for sure last another few years. I use it in 80% of my styling, whether to smooth our slick ponytails or to brush and sculpt out romantic dry finger waves, it always comes through. Definitely worth the investment!

What’s the most underrated drugstore product? What makes it so special?

ORS Edge Control! It’s under $6 and I’ve been using this since I was a broke girl in hair school, its great for taming baby hairs and create super glossy slick looks.

If you only had time to use one product on a client, what would it be?

American English’s 24 Karat Gold Thickening Lotion. It’s the perfect and most reliable prepping product to create any look. It helps builds a foundation for almost any style you are trying to create. I depend on it especially for my clients that are anti-products.

If I wasn’t a hairstylist, I would be…

A travel journalist or a Nat Geo photographer. I love to travel and that profession looks like it takes you to the most incredible places on earth.

I hate it when I’m doing someone’s hair and they…

WILL NOT STAY STILL, especially when you have a hot marcel next to their temple or trying to place a pin in a very specific spot.

When I’m styling someone’s hair, I’m usually…

Chewing a piece of gum and in a meditative mindset. Hair styling is pretty therapeutic for me, I enjoy the thought and hands-on creative process.
