Every Detail About Kylie Jenner’s Sunday Service Braid
The KarJenner’s closed out Coachella at Kanye’s Sunday Service with a major fashion moment. As usual, everyone from North to Kris were giving us all the new-way-to-Easter feels, but we’re giving Kylie props in particular, because she made her mane the star of the show. Here’s how to kopy Kylie’s close out look, straight from her stylist, Cesar Ramirez.
Cesar Ramirez, celeb stylist and Coachella fixture was inspired to create this sophisticated yet playful hair-look as a complement to Kylie’s sartorial choice that day. “She was wearing a simple earth-toned dress, so I wanted to keep the hair simple but interesting – ethereal and beautiful.” Accessories and braids have been big this festival season, and he found a way to combine both while playing with shape. The best part about this style may also be the endless potential for charms, which will make the look new every time — it’s a definite standout to add to your repertoire.
Cesar’s first step to achieving the look was to slick back Kylie’s hair into a mid-crown ponytail using IGK Mistress Hydrating Hair Balm: $29, which he describes as “perfect for a glossy, healthy-looking slick back.” Location is everything, and cheating believable moisture is especially key in the middle of an arid desert.
Because length is the easiest thing to fake till you make, Cesar then attaches a 22” Wildform ponytail. After securing the hair, he braids it using Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel: $29 for a soft hold.
“The fun part was attaching some beautiful Wildform hair jewels,” he notes. “The discs are made of natural sea shells and coconut shells — I combined them with glass crosses since she was attending Sunday Service,” he adds of tying it all together with the perfect pieces.
Finally, to finish the look, Cesar sprays with just a little bit of Intern Flexible Hairspray: $29 to keep the style in place, no matter how much Kylie decided to dance/sway/look around/flip her hair. There you have it — that’s how you Coachella in just three easy steps!
