AG’s NEW Curl Fresh Collection is 98% Plant Based and Silicone-Free

Any girl with curls knows that curl patterns are deeply personal. What works for one, won’t necessarily work for another. And what worked last month won’t always work tomorrow, as curls and their patterns are always evolving. Wherever you currently are in your curl journey, we’ve found a new range that we think you will truly love: AG’s Curl Fresh line made with plant-based essentials ranging from an easy to use Shampoo and Conditioner to a Definer. The entire collection is cruelty-free and vegan as well as free from silicones and sulfates.

AG Curl Fresh Shampoo: $30

We all know that great curl definition starts with a really great shampoo sesh, and we can’t get enough of AG Curl Fresh Shampoo. Powered by natural cleansing agents from acacia and desert date trees along with soothing ginger, pea peptides and vegan keratin–this shampoo delivers essential moisture and amino acids and helps seal the cuticle to define each and every curl. It’s formulated with over 98% plant-based and naturally-derived ingredients, and much milder cleansers. Plus, it’s also sulfate-free, which is important for curl-types. Also contains an additional 10-15 botanical extracts to nourish hair.

The impressive ingredient list, which also includes sunflower seed, tomato, olive leaf, linseed, sweet almond, peach, apple and apricot (aka reads like your local farmer’s market), has an equally impressive “free from” list that excludes things like sulfates, parabens, paraffins, DEA and notably salt, which tends to be used as a thickener and dry out hair. The hero ingredient though in here is ginger which has natural anti-fungal and antiseptic properties that help to gently cleanse hair and scalp, removing buildup and dandruff.

AG Curl Fresh Conditioner: $30

If you’re picky about conditioners, you’re not alone. Getting all that much needed moisture on the ends without weighing down your mane can be a serious challenge. AG’s Curl Fresh Conditioner is, like their shampoo, also filled over 98% plant-based and naturally-derived ingredients with rich avocado, coconut and pea peptides. It works best when left on for about 5 minutes and helps hydrate curls back to bouncy. The hero ingredient here is avocado oil – which is rich in biotin, vitamins A, B5 and E, essential fatty acids, minerals and antioxidants. The monounsaturated fatty acids make avocado oil ideal for the hair as the small molecular structure is more easily absorbed into the cuticle to seal in moisture – without weighing down curls.

AG Curl Fresh Definer: $25

The last mandatory component of getting your dream curls lies in choosing the perfect styler – one that will activate your curl pattern without making them feel crunchy and stiff. While silicones are safe and FDA approved for use, they don’t work well with all hair types and really, usage in products comes down to personal preference. Silicones help add slip in products – products that make hair feel smoother, or help with detangling. AG chose to create a silicone-free option for consumers looking for more naturally-derived and plant-based ingredients. AG uses sunflower oil, coconut oil and avocado oil, to achieve slip in Curl Fresh products. Accordingly, AG Curl Fresh Definer is a silicone-free soft-hold styling cream that helps curls feel fresh and defined without stickiness or crunch. It’s super easy to use – after shampooing and conditioning, apply a small amount evenly through clean, wet hair and then continue on to styling either by air dry or with a diffuser. Infused with tomato fruit ferment extract to define curls, linseed oil for fatty acids, and olive extract to condition and soothe.
