This week’s Balmain show in Paris was not to be missed. Located at the lavish Intercontinental Le Grand Hotel, everything about the show oozed glamour. From gold lined invitations to champagne backstage, everyone was anticipating what would appear on the runway this year.
With originally 30 models walking, it wasn’t until two days before the show that 22 more were added, creating the largest Balmain show to date. The hairstylists were all working late the night before to custom color Balmain Hair Couture hair extensions to match the hair color of every girl.
To compliment the structured pieces in the collection, the hair was pulled high into a slick pony using all Balmain Hair Couture hair products.
Key hairstylist, Sam Mcknight slicked each of the star studded line up’s hair back with mousse into a tout ponytail at the top of the head. String was used to secure the base and wrapped around to create an anchor that the hair wefts were attached to.
To protect the hair backstage and make sure it stayed smooth until showtime, each pony was wrapped in paper and clipped into place.
