With summer vacations and salty getaways on the horizon, we had to know how to master the perfect beachy hair. You know- those salty, piecey, perfectly tossled waves that every cool girl wears on the beach. So we asked some of Instagram’s hottest beach babes to let us in on their hair secrets and how they get the perfect island mane.

SAHARA RAY @sahara_ray

“I pretty much just get out of the shower and run out the door hair still dripping wet & unbrushed. When I have a little extra time on my hands or I’m going to an event I’ll spray Bumble and bumble Surf Spray and a pump of some kind of hair oil like Kevin Murphy Young Again Oil.

Nothing compares to REAL beach hair though…. I wish I could jump into the ocean every morning.”

HAILEY ELEFANTE @the_salty_blonde

“To get my beach dreads, as I like to call them, I just throw some coconut oil on the ends of my hair when it’s damp and let the tropical elements of Hawaii do the rest of the work. Between the salt and humidity it’s hard not to achieve a mermaid mane. Also, some of my best hair days in my opinion is 2nd day hair, so a little dirtier the better!”

GENEVIEVE MORTON @genevievemorton

“I like to use a leave in hair conditioner and let me hair dry naturally, that leaves my hair feeling soft with a natural texture to work with. Otherwise I’m a big fan of Bumble and bumble Surf Spray. It gives my hair a great natural beach wave.”

CAMERON RORRISON @cameronrorrison

“The less you try, the happier you’ll be. I’m lucky enough to always be at the beach in bikinis where I can leave my hair down and wild and let the ocean spray work its magic while I’m shooting. If I’m traveling or in the city I love to throw it up in a bun when its damp and Oribe Dry Texture Spray is my favorite for feeling like I just woke up after a long, hot, summer night. Bombshell bedhead.”

KATRINA BRODSKY @keller_rose

“I honestly feel the most sexy after a long beach day – salty hair and golden skin, nothing beats it.

I’m one for embracing my natural locks so I never touch it with anything hot and always let it air dry.

I’m addicted to anything OGX and their Moroccan Sea Salt Spray is my go-to – use it on damp or dry hair it always gives you the perfect beach hair.”
