Everyone wants to nail down the perfect set of curls for their own hair. Unless you were born with a head full of gorgeous, bountiful spiral then you’ve likely turned to a curling iron to get the job done. However, since we all have different hair lengths it can be difficult to find the right one that will work right to get the curls we each personally desire. We consulted Brian Zinno, Education Director and Principal Stylist of Antonio Prieto Salon to give us the full break down. Here, the best curling irons for every hair length.
For shorter hair lengths it's important to have options when it comes to your curling barrels. Short strands need thinner barrels that make it easier to grip and twirl the hair.
"This interchangeable iron allows you to have all the tools helpful for curling short hair, including wands and barrels that are .75 to 1.25 inches," says Zinno.
For medium hair, you'll need slightly bigger barrels than those with shorter hair need. That way your strands can be curled to their entirety. If you have layers especially, it's great to consider a curler that comes with more than option.
"This is a curling and flat iron put into one. It's best for medium-length hair, while the flat iron could be used to grip those shorter layers," he explained.
We all know longer lengths can be a bit grueling to curl, because the process takes a bit longer. Finding a barrel 1.25 inches or thicker is super important in order to get a great curl pattern, but to also help save you styling time. You can also invest in a curler that does the job for you.
