Alterna Meltaway No-Rinse Micellar Cleanser: $29
Perhaps I’m applying it wrong or something, but I’ve never been a dry shampoo girl. That said, Alterna’s Meltaway No-Rinse Micellar Cleanser changed the game for me. While not a “dry shampoo” in the most technical terms, it is no-rinse, and it’s the closest thing to dry shampoo that’s worked for me. It takes your soiled strands and resets them back to their original texture. While not recommended for use on blowouts, it’s great for everyday hair. Fresh from a sweat sesh or a night out at the bar, this creme-to-powder formula not only breaks down product, but it also removes odor, which I desperately needed in my twenties when I was out way too late on “school nights.” – Dahvi Shira, Writer
OUAI Super Dry Shampoo: $24
I absolutely love the scent! It doesn’t leave my hair feeling dry or with any residue. – Christina Giraldo, Social Media Manager
Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Dry Shampoo: $39
This fast-absorbing product really lives up to the hype (and so does everything Living Proof, tbh). Formulated with the brand’s patented healthy hair molecule, this unique product leaves your strands feeling freshly washed and residue-free. – Ally Kolsky, Writer
Klorane Dry Shampoo With Oat Milk: $10
It’s super refreshing, gentle, leaves no white residue, and is made in France—C’est parfait! – Emilie Branch, Writer (our Editorial Director, Allison McNamara loves it, too!)
Dove Volume and Fullness Dry Shampoo: $4.89
It was love at first spritz with this item. I was skeptical when I first used it, but have pushed this product on anyone and everyone who needed a new dry shampoo. It’s one of the few that has continued to work for me time and time again. My hair tends to get used to these products very quickly, but this one always works. I also have fairly flat hair, so I love that this one offers some volume and fullness to my weighed down strands in between wash days. – Ashley Locke, Digital Content Coordinator
Hairstory Powder: $36
Powder dry shampoos aren’t for everyone, but I happen to be a huge fan. This one from Hairstory really sealed the deal for me. I’ve washed my hair a lot less frequently, namely due to the pandemic, so there are days when the oil is out of control. When I need a heavy duty dry shampoo, I reach for this one because it soaks up everything. I can’t even tell that it’s been a week since I washed my hair after using it. – Ashley Locke
