The Best Hair Moments at the 2021 Golden Globes—Plus, Some You Didn’t See on TV

In times like these, still being trapped in the midst of a global pandemic, we’re thankful for awards shows. They give us something to talk about that doesn’t entirely make us question our existence.

Last evening, we were blessed with the Golden Globes hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler. We’re the first to admit we practically tune out after the red carpet. The only reason we care about these events is to see what everyone’s wearing, how they’re doing their makeup, and which hairstyles they choose to tie it all together.

In the spirit of the latter, we rounded up some of the best hair moments we witnessed at this year’s Golden Globes. There were a handful of moments you likely didn’t see on TV.

Keep scrolling to see our favorite hair looks from the soiree!

Tina Fey “Stroking” Amy Poehler’s Hair

Not even mandatory social distancing can keep this dynamic duo apart.

Angela Bassett’s Mile-Long Braid

This was the look of the night for us. That mile-long braid is everything and there’s no one better to pull it off than Angela Bassett.

Andra Day’s Curly Updo

How fun is this updo on Andra Day? Her hairstylist Tony Medina called her the “belle of the ball” and we have to say we completely agree.

Sofia Carson’s French Twist

We wouldn’t be surprised if elegance is Sofia Carson’s middle name, especially with how beautiful she looks in this French twist.

Zuri Hall’s Voluminous Low Ponytail

We don’t think we’ve ever seen a low ponytail that we’ve been this obsessed with in quite some time.

Satchel Lee’s Y2K Updo

We’ve never seen more perfect face-framing tendrils in our lives. This hairstyle is too good not to attempt to recreate ourselves.

Laverne Cox’s Milkmaid Braids

Laverne Cox always brings her A-game when it comes to awards shows, and this year is no exception. Her milkmaid braids are truly ethereal.

Sarah Paulson’s Slicked Back Style

We aren’t often drawn to to the slicked back style, but for some reason, we really dig it on Sarah Paulson. Maybe we’re just drawn to the Prada cast, who knows?

Nicola Coughlan’s Textured Bob

We haven’t been this convinced to get a bob since Chicago came out in 2002. Those neon green bobby pins make the hairstyle even more to-die-for.

Kristen Wiig’s Punky Pixie

We adore Kristen Wiig’s edgy styling of her sweet pixie.

Jane Fonda’s Gray Strands

We sincerely hope we age as gracefully as Jane Fonda. She really makes the case for going gray with her feathered strands.

Anya Taylor-Joy’s Waist-Length Tresses

Come on, this was one of the best looks of the night. Anya Taylor-Joy is too good to be true, we can’t take our eyes off of her.

Storm Reid’s Braided High Ponytail

Storm Reid took the high pony trend to the extreme with this braided look. We’re also pretty sure she topped off her tresses with crystals, which makes it that much better.
