Kim Kimble Reveals How To Create Beyonce’s VMA Braided Pony

Beyonce took our breath away at MTV’s Video Music Awards — both on the red carpet and on the stage. Not only did she give fans a 15-minute performance of her latest album, “Lemonade,” she also gave us a full night of avant-garde fashion! Channeling her inner goddess, the singer arrived on the red carpet donning a sheer, shimmery skin-tight gown designed by Francesco Scognamiglio, with her hair in an ethereal braided ponytail styled by Kim Kimble.

“The feeling was angelic. It reminded me of something Grecian,” Kimble said of her inspiration. As for how to recreate the look, we’ve got you covered! Kimble’s intricate braid is pretty simple to recreate.

To get the look, I braided two inverted braids on both sides into one inverted braid going down the back. Having the hair pulled back really worked to show off the dress. The hair looked angelic.”

Towards to middle of the show, Beyonce let her hair down to give us a stellar AF performance. “For the performance looks, I used a waving iron to create texture,” Kimble explained. “You can do this at home by applying a curl cream and leave-in with some hold like my Kimble Beauty Bounce Back Curl Cream and Kimble Beauty Bounce Back Curl Revitalizer, and then braiding the hair until it dries and then releasing the hair. This is the heat-free way of creating soft waves.”
