Long hairstyles for men are anything but boring. We love a guy with long hair, especially when there are layers, volume, waves—all the things! We reached out to groomer and STMNT brand ambassador, Drizzy, to find out his favorite looks and how to get them—and what he’d tell guys who are hesitant to grow it out.
“I think the best hairstyles for men with long hair are modern-day brushbacks or textured mullets. These are great ways to have length but still have the hair feel styled,” he says. “Some of my main go-to styles for guys are textured crops or mid-length graduation haircuts. Both are great for added movement to the hair.” As for his personal fave, Drizzy opts for a “textured crop with a mid-fade.”
If you need an even stronger push to grow out your hair, we rounded up a few male celebrities who make long hairstyles on men look oh so good.
1. Harry Styles’ Modern Vintage
Styles rocks a universally flattering shoulder-length cut made all the more interesting with soft waves and topped off with a timeless vintage fedora.
To maintain this natural texture, Drizzy loves “using the STMNT Grooming Spray while cocktailing it with some Dry Clay to give it that natural feel.”

2. Jason Momoa’s Waves
Take a page from Aquaman’s book and nail beach waves. Drizzy suggests using “the STMNT Wax Powder to help bring out the texture” of your beach waves.

3. Brad Pitt’s Polished Style
Pitt’s looking ever so polished with his perfectly-parted strands. Cheat the look (minus the glam squad) by tucking your hair behind your ears and opting for a side part to create additional volume in this long hairstyle.

4. Timothee Chalamet’s Curls
Timothee Chalamet is the world’s greatest hairspo. If you can achieve these curls, please grow them. And to maintain their volume, Drizzy suggests using the STMNT Shampoo to keep your hair free from buildup.

5. Christian Bale’s Shag
Perhaps Christian Bale’s most flattering cut, this layered shag begs to be touched. Plus, the shag is totally in right now and is one of the most popular long hairstyles for men this year.

6. Dev Patel’s Tousled Look
Patel’s tousled hair is easy and cool, almost like he took a Vespa to the red carpet. All that’s required is a little hand styling with a pomade of your choice.

7. Joe Keery’s Mullet
The Stranger Things star’s mullet is nothing short of iconic. We definitely believe it was Keery’s hair that brought the trend back with a more modern twist.

8. Jaden Smith’s Locs
Smith’s sideswept locs are peak hair, and will always be our fave long hairstyle of his.

9. Ty Dolla Sign’s Braids
Dolla Sign’s multi-color thick braids are a reminder that long hairstyles for men can also be fun. Dare to add in a pop of color for a multi-dimensional look.
