From their posh accents, British hairstylists might fool you into thinking that they exclusively call on big-ticket items when it comes to coiffing manes across the pond, but they, too, have drugstore hair favorites. Click through the gallery now to see five British celebrity hairtylists’ drugstore must-haves and their favorite way to use the holy grail hair product on celebrity clients.
Patrick Wilson @patrickwilson: Bumble and bumble Dry Spun Thickening Hairspray, Boots £23
Why it's a kit must-have: This product is perfect for next day hair. It gives you body and fullness without feeling like you have too much product in.
Favorite way to use on clients: I like to tip the head upside down and spritz into the roots, massage the product in with my fingers and gently tease the style through.
Tina Outen @tinadidit: Biosilk Silk Therapy Leave-In Conditioner, Bed Bath & Beyond £30
Why it's a kit must-have: It's a leave-in conditioning treatment so it absorbs completely into the hair leaving no heavy residue, adding shine and flexibility while moisturizing the hair so the waves and movement are encouraged.
Favorite way to use on clients: I love to use it on shoots in an exaggerated fashion layering heavily the Biosilk then overlaying with drying volumizing sprays to create unusual texture. But on celebrities who enjoy a glossy, soft, natural feel to their hair, I love to mist the hair with water, spread a pea-sized drop through my hands, and apply evenly through lengths and ends. Then when the hair is dry I use a teeny, tiny drop to the ends to create separation and detail. Unlike a serum, it disappears completely, which is why for me it is magical, delivering invisible results.
