We like big buns and we cannot lie! No more is there only one type of bun, and with a such a wide variety of styles, we’ve got tips for achieving all of them!

THE TOP KNOT

This twisted updo is a quick way to get that perfect messy bun!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

TO STYLE:

  1. Gather into a high pony (don’t worry about it being too neat as we want the added texture for this style).
  2. Secure with an elastic, then twist the hair upwards and begin to circle it down to the scalp.
  3. Secure with bobby pins and french hair pins to your liking.

BALLERINA BUN

An elegant updo that is simple and sophisticated. A classic look for everyday or to glam up a night time look.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

TO STYLE:

  1. Using a Mason Pearson brush, smooth hair tightly upwards into a high pony.
  2. Secure ponytail with an elastic or bungee.
  3. Take your hair form around the top of your ponytail, and begin to roll the ends of your hair downwards until secured at the base.
  4. Use the end of your rat tail comb to smooth any stray strands or flyaways.
  5. Use Oribe Gold Lust Oil to smooth the hairline and add shine.
  6. Finish with a mist of hair spray!

BRAIDED BUN

Not any average updo, this detailed bun is sure to cause major hair envy!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

TO STYLE:

  1. Smooth hair into a ponytail (this can work placed high, medium or low).
  2. Secure with hair elastic.
  3. Dust pony with Kevin Murphy Powder Puff, then create a free hanging braid of your choice, securing the ends with an elastic.
  4. Loop, wrap, and/or knot the braid around the ponytail and secure into place with bobby pins.
  5. Use your fingers to pinch or pull on either side of the braid for added texture, then secure with french hair pins.
