Christophe Robin at Le Meurice Hotel in Paris is one of the most coveted and exclusive salons in the city. Hidden down a hallway on the first floor of the hotel, it’s not the most easy-to-find salon and spa, though when you do find it, it’s like a chic haven where celebs and socialites feel safe and undisturbed.
After eight years at Le Meurice, Christophe felt it was time to open something that felt accessible. As an artisan, he wanted to be in a more approachable environment, where people could pop in at the drop of a hat. The salon is in a small pedestrian-only street.
“I discovered the street when I ran out of a perfume I had received as a gift from my partner,” Christophe tells us. “He told me I would only be able to find it in a store specialized in fragrances called Nose. Rue Bachaumont represented the Paris I first fell in love with when I arrived years ago. From that point on, I knew this was where I wanted to open my salon.”
Like its predecessor, the new salon is a warm and inviting sanctuary. With a strong Parisian influence, every nook and cranny is full of warm accent pieces with stories to tell.
Christophe was inspired by the aesthetic of Tony Duquette (20th century, LA based interior and movie set designer) – playing with incredible textures, prints and colors. On display in the salon are also many of the personal treasures Christophe has collected throughout his travels and antiquing.
With the new space comes a new concept. Guests can sample all of the products in Christophe Robin’s hair care line before deciding on buying them. This includes a full station where customers (with the assistance of an expert) can shampoo and condition their hair, then dry and style using any and all Christophe’s products.
In addition, the salon will offer colors, cuts, blowouts, and manicures. For those who might not know what they are looking for, they can come in and receive a complimentary wash and consultation, and who knows—perhaps a chat with Christophe himself.
