Is one of your New Year’s resolutions to hit the gym before work in the mornings? If so, you’re probably already aware that working out more could potentially mean spending more time washing your hair. But since nobody wants to spend their precious time in the morning shampooing, conditioning and drying their hair, we’ve come up with a list of 6 gym hair hacks that you need to know so that you can spend less time on your hair and more time doing squats.
Keep reading to find out how you can go from sweaty strands to a tame mane that is ready for work as fast as possible.
1. Pack up the travel tools
Pack up your travel tools in your gym bag so that you can spruce up your strands post-workout. We love T3's Featherweight Compact Dryer, the lightweight dryer folds in half so it doesn't take up too much space in your tote yet it generates the same high volume of air and sleek, shiny hair as it's full-size counterparts.

2. Put dry shampoo on before you workout (and after)
Applying dry shampoo to your roots before you pull your hair up prior to exercising will help to soak up sweat and oils as you sweat - ultimately saving the time you spend on fixing your hair post-workout. When your workout is over, you should apply the dry shampoo in one inch sections and then work through your roots to make sure to activate it and soak up as much oil as possible. One of the best dry shampoos to use after the gym is Dove's Volume + Fullness Dry Shampoo (which also happens to be a Mane Addicts Award Winner). The almost-transparent dry shampoo not only soaks up oils without the white residue but it leaves a refreshing floral scent all day long.

3. Use a creaseless hair tie
Using a creaseless hair tie like Inivisibobble's Traceless Hair Ring will eliminate the need to get that ponytail kink out of your hair after your workout - saving you time and effort when getting ready for work.

4. Use a blowdryer to smooth
While you may not be washing your hair, using a blowdryer to dry up any remaining sweat as well as to smooth the hair is key for a flawless mane. After your workout, make sure to blow your roots dry before applying dry shampoo to dry up as much moisture as possible. Then, use the blowdryer to smooth your hair in a downwards motion for sleek, tame strands.
5. Eliminate frizz afterwards
Ouai's newly-launched Anti-Frizz sheets are a major game changer in the name of timesaving gym hair hacks. Each sheet is individually wrapped so they're perfect for your gym bag or purse and they are infused with coconut oil and shea butter to tame frizz and deliver a lightweight shine - perfect for any hair type or texture. The sheets should be applied from root to end in a downward motion to completely eliminate frizz and get you out the door and on your way to work.

6. Leave-in conditioner is your friend
Say goodbye to dry brittle hair post-workout with Verb's Ghost Oil. The restorative oil is infused with a moringa oil blend to coat the hair shaft with nutrients, eliminate frizz and replenish the hair of it's moisture and shine after your sweat sesh.
