Get Farrah Fawcett Hair Without the Heat

Farrah Fawcett was the epitome of California cool. With big blonde waves, volume like no other, and a penchant for sneakers and jeans, this iconic actress had an aesthetic all her own. And it’s one I emulate to this day. But beautiful Fawcett-approved waves take time, effort, and a toll on your tresses… or so I thought. Recently, I discovered the oh-so-simple way to get Farrah’s staple waves without a single hot styling tool. That’s right. No blow dryer or curling iron required. Check out this easy Farrah Fawcett hair how-to below.

How to Get Farrah Fawcett Hair Without Heat

Start With Styling Cream

Behold, the power of a good styling cream. You’ll need something that works with dry hair and provides a flexible hold. Work your chosen styling cream from the mid-lengths to the ends of your hair, lightly saturating each strand. Dae’s Cactus Fruit 3-in-1 Styling Cream is ideal for this job. With a light citrus scent and a bit of conditioning power, this styling cream is easy to apply and even easier on your tresses.

Double Buns Do the Work

The secret to this look is all in the double buns. After working in the styling cream, separate your tresses along your desired part. Twisting out and away from the face, wrap your sections into moderately tight buns at the top-back of your head and secure with a hair tie. Leave the hair tie a little bit loose (an ultra tight twist could lead to creasing). Add a few bobby pins around the base of each bun to keep them from moving about.

Brush Out and Spritz to Stay

Leave your buns in for a few hours (the longer, the better). When you feel your strands have taken the proper shape, remove the hair ties and pins and uncoil your buns. Brush out your waves to create that signature Farrah Fawcett volume. Simply spritz with your desired hairspray and you’re ready to rock that ’70s icon look!
