I’m a shampoo snob. There, I admitted it. Blame it on my locks and my lust for the lazy-but-cute girl hair routine. Which is why I’m a diehard fan of the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil and was disappointed in myself when our editorial director beat me to a review of the oil. So when Gisou sent us their new Honey Infused Hair Wash and Conditioner, I was doing backflips (in my head).

Like the brand’s super luxe feeling oil, the shampoo and conditioner are enriched with honey from the Mirsalehi bee garden. Mega babe Negin Mirsalehi’s bee garden, to be exact. The words “healthy hair” are on the bottles’ exterior and the backside says it relieves the scalp from buildup, is suitable for all hair types, and safe for colored and chemically treated hair. All bases covered. Before I even pumped the nozzle, my olfactory senses knew what to expect: the same subtle but swoon-worthy scent the hair oil has. My nose gave its approval a long time ago. Now the question was would my scalp and naturally wavy locks approve too? The shampoo’s viscosity was decadent and honey-like, instantly making it irresistible. I applied the shampoo in sections while massaging my scalp. It’s lather level was normal aka just the right amount of bubbles. I followed with the conditioner from mid-shaft to ends and left it in for about three minutes.
When I got out of the shower, I wrapped my hair with my Daily Concepts Hair Towel Wrap (a non-damaging wash day must!) then removed my locks from the towel after a minute or two. When my hair air dried, it looked like I had poured the hair oil all over my locks—in the best way. My waves ebbed and flowed better than ever with minimal signs of the usual flyaways. And they felt soft. Plush even. When I caught a glimpse of my hair in the rearview mirror, I realized the combination of the shampoo and conditioner had also enhanced my currently-blasè brown hair color. In other words, my hair glistened like the ocean under the sun. My favorite part is that both bottles come with a lot of product which means the glow will go a long way. Give it up for Gisou.
These shampoos are so good you don’t need to use conditioner after
