When we found out that Mad Men starlet January Jones was the new spokesperson for Kérastase’s new haircare line, our ears perked right up. Jones recently told WWD, “I don’t endorse a lot of things unless I really believe in them.” A line Jones obvi thinks is legit enough to back, Kérastase’s Nutritive Magistral is the latest update from the Nutra Thermique family. Providing optimal hydration for brittle, damaged hair, the formula behind Magistral contains nutrients that supplies strands with immunity from dryness. So say bye to dry, and keep reading for the 411 on the at-home regimen with Nutritive Magistral–so good, you might just ditch your current routine.
This shampoo is specifically designed for dry, thirsty hair. It gently cleanses your scalp and strands of impurities while preparing your hair for some serious TLC.
How to use: Apply to damp hair, lather, rinse, and repeat if desired.
Now that your mane is squeaky clean, nourish every strand with this ultra-hydrating conditioner. A quick 2-3 minute marinade will leave hair manageable and supple.
How to use: Apply to clean damp hair, massage onto lengths and ends, leave in for 2-3 minutes, lather, and rinse thoroughly.
Go the extra mile with this intensely moisturizing deep conditioner, perfectly designed for thick, severely dry hair. Masque Magistral not only hydrates your strands, it also protects the hair fiber from drying out.
How to use: Apply to clean towel-dried hair, massage onto lengths and ends, leave in for 5 minutes, lather, and rinse thoroughly.
Kérastase features its latest hair advancement, Nutribalm Technology, with a creamy white thermal-protective miracle in a jar. This lightweight moisturizer melts into hair, penetrating the lengths of every strand. Its special formula smooths out frizz and adds shine, making it a perfect finish for every style.
How to use: Apply to cleansed and towel-dried hair before combing/brushing, massage throughout hair and leave-in. Continue to style as usual. This can also be used as a finishing touch post-style.
Having camera-ready locks—maintaining color and using heat tools on set daily—can wreak major havoc on Jones’ mane, which requires some high-maintenance hair care. It’s a no-brainer then that she’s Kérastase’s latest muse. At the line’s launch in NYC, we got a chance to ask the starlet about her partnership with the brand, her hair routine, and hair goals. Keep reading to get the scoop on all the #manespiration she gave us.
Mane Addicts: What’s your favorite Kérastase product?
January Jones: “The Masquintense For Fine Hair. I’ve been using it for, like, 11 years. No, wait. Holy crap…15 years!”
MA: What’s your hair routine like?
JJ: “When I’m not working, I don’t use heat products unless I’m going out.. I use masks and I only wash my hair twice a week. If it’s summer, then only once a week. I trim it every three weeks because I’m trying to grow it out and to get rid of dead ends so that it can grow healthy. I take biotin, but I don’t know if it does anything. And I’m not coloring it as often.”
MA: Who does your styling and color?
JJ: Bridget Brager, sometimes Renato Campora. And Tracey Cunningham does my color.
MA: Who’s your hair inspiration?
JJ: Tonight my hair inspiration came from these Jean Shrimpton photos by David Bailey. Bridget Brager did my hair.
MA: Do you have any favorite hair looks that you like to do on yourself at home?
JJ: I’ll use the flat iron sometimes or just do waves with a 1 1/4”barrel. I also love a good top knot.
MA: Do you have any hair goals?
JJ: I’m trying to grow it out! Now that I don’t have to keep it a certain length for the show. So I’ve been keeping up with getting trims to keep it growing in healthy.
