Think the ’90s are gone? Think again! Tom Ford Spring 2018 kicked off New York Fashion Week and his return back to #NYFW from LA last season with an over-the-top runway show at the Park Avenue Armory with a blonde Kim Kardashian West clad in latex front row. But not even Kim K (or her baby news!) could keep the eyes off of the boyish, wispy cuts Tom Ford sent down the runway for next season.
Kris Jenner, is that you? Nope. It’s just Kendall Jenner sporting a similar Kris coif for the Tom Ford show. A NYFW haircut can be a career defining moment for a model–last season Kendall got a pretty major hair snip by none other than our own Jen Atkin that sparked a angular bob-olution.
But the likes of Kendall, Gigi Hadid, Grace Hartzel and Vittoria Ceretti didn’t go for the big chop just yet–the look, created by Orlando Pita, is a mastery of gathering, tucking and pinning to achieve the pixie-esque look.
Orlanda Pita tells Vogue, “Tom wanted to cut all of the girls’ hair off; this was my solution.” But let’s think about the actual goal of showing powerful women sporting boy cuts on the runway… it’s to inspire actual women to cut all of their hair off. Because… why not? Will you?
Something tells us this is just the start of shorter and shorter looks for spring 2018. Keep checking back here for more #NYFW coverage!
