Hey now, hey now–this is what dreams are made of! Yep, Lizzie McGuire is officially coming back, Hilary Duff is reprising her iconic teenage role breathing new life into the character that so many of us watched and loved during our adolescence. To celebrate this next chapter, Hilary decided to get a blonde reboot by Nikki Lee at 901 Salon that pays homage to the OG Lizzie McQuire.

“When creating Lizzie’s new blonde it was important to Hilary that it was different from what Lizzie had in the past, and also a little different from what Hilary would normally have. Lizzie’s next chapter Blonde is a burst of sunshine!” Nikki tells us “Lighter throughout the ends and around the face, with some dimension throughout the top.”

Nikki achieved this bright blonde using Joico’s Blonde Life Lightener, and locked in the color and keep hair healthy by using In Common’s Mended Sea Treatment Enhancer for strength with the In Common Velvet Cloud Mask.

Using Framar tint brushes Nikki “did a full head of highlights using Joico Blonde Life Powder Lightener with 30 volume LumiShine Developer at the rot, 20 volume through the mid-shaft and 10 volume through the ends when needed,” Nikki explains, “After she lifted to a pale yellow, I did a root tap about two inches out at the bowl using Joico LumiShine Demi-Permanent Liquid 6N with 5 volume LumiShine Developer.”

For the hairline and a bit of the midshaft, Nikki used “Joico LumiShine Demi-Permanent Liquid equal parts 6N + 8N with 5 volume LumiShine Developer.” And for the all over toner, Nikki used Joico LumiShine Demi-Permanent Liquid 9nV + 10N +10SB with 5 volume LumiShine Developer, applying this while the root tap was still on and let everything process together for 15 minutes.
