This week in Paris, John Galliano showcased his SS16 ready to wear collection for Maison Margiela. As the models hit the runway, we saw dreamy 60’s inspired silhouettes describes as “garments touched by the patina of time” by Galliano.
Similarly, the hair and makeup went back in time with dramatic coiffures and statement eyes. A blast from the past with a futuristic twist, the sci-fi inspiration brought this 60’s hairstyle to whole new heights. Styled by Eugene Souleiman, pink, blue, and mauve beehive’s walked the runway with an effortless, wind-swept finish.
In addition to the space-age meets mod inspiration, there were structured and matted updo’s adorned with cellophane and wrapped in plastic.
The futuristic manes were complemented by graphic, silver foiled eye shadow and neutral lips by Makeup artist Pat McGrath.
The overall look was just as Galliano and Margiela envisioned, low-fi, sci-fi, with a hi-fi finish.
