Your Snapchat feed is about to be lit like never before. Why? Because Mane Addicts founder, Jen Atkin, just turned our office out, yesss, she did. Atkin enlisted Consort Design’s Mat Sanders and Wayfair to nip and tuck the Downtown Los Angeles office from which Atkin’s three businesses operate—Ouai, Mane Addicts, and Mane University. We anticipate the gorg renovation, featured in PEOPLE, will make plenty of cameos in her snaps.
“[My goal was] to create a chic, warm and inviting space that reflected my brand’s aesthetic,” Atkin told PEOPLE. Sanders met Atkin’s expectations by infusing a residential flavor to the commercial office by way of fresh flowers, monochromatic furniture and gold-accented desktop accessories.
As for which design aspect the she-e-o admires most? The nontraditional conference room. “We had to work with the warm wood paneling that already existed, and we wanted to add some dimension,” Sanders explained. “So we chose a nice, light gray [for the ceiling] which is calming and serene while adding a sense of depth to the space.”
“For the furniture, we definitely went with a high contrast concept. The conference table is a beautiful, oval high-gloss white and we paired that with some modern black oak chairs.”
Situated on a penthouse floor that’s drenched in sunlight, the office reminds us of the hairstyles Jen creates for her seemingly infinite roster of A-list clients—inventively fresh and edgy.
An OCD Atkin told PEOPLE, “Because my schedule is so busy, I need a space that is clean and organized so I don’t waste my time trying to find things. Organization is the key to my chaos” adding, “I love everything in its place and worthy of a snap.”
We say that the mirrored coffee table adorned by a triple-très-chic stack of books is begging to be snapped first.
