It’s no secret that Italians do it better when it comes to style. Some of the most established fashion houses in the world hail from Italy, like Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Versace, Missoni… you catch our drift. So needless to say, the hair was just as poppin’ as the clothes on the runways in Milan. While New York Fashion Week delivered hair trends like ’40s-inspired black bows, natural texture, and low ponys, Milan Fashion Week Fall 2017 hair trends brought the drama. Think headscarves, bold hair color, and bangs galore. Scroll through our favorite Milan Fashion Week Fall 2017 hair trends below, and you’ll see just what we mean.
REGAL ACCESSORIES
Sure bows are cute, but why wear a bow when you can wear a crown? At least, that was the mantra at Dolce & Gabbana, where influencers and models alike donned mega-watt crowns fit for a queen. For those who weren’t crowned, colorful roses dressed up basic buns and natural waves.
Opulent accessories were also spotted at Gucci, thanks to Creative Director Alessandro Michele, but in the form of decadent ’70s-inspired turbans and Gucci sweatbands. Touted as his best Gucci collection to date, there was a bit of influence from every decade, as seen in the 119 (omg!) mix-matched looks that walked down the runway and the wide variety of hair accessories.
JOLTS OF COLOR
While the fashion set may have retired candy-coated manes for now, Milan Fashion Week proved that color is still cool. Versace sent top models, like Gigi Hadid, Behati Prinsloo, and Bella Hadid, down the catwalk with bold bright extensions in blue, yellow and orange. Dubbed ‘Dare to #VFierce,’ we can totally see this bold look translating to festival season with bright extensions that are fun and easy on your tresses. If you’re itching for something more intense, try an all over cobalt blue like we saw at

SIDE PARTS
Side parts popped up during NYFW, and they’re continuing on as a major player among the Milan Fashion Week Fall 2017 hair trends. The center part has gotten a lot of love over the past few years, so we’re excited to switch things up and show off our favorite selfie side with this dramatic, sweeping side look. We spotted this look on all the majors–Gucci, Versus, Missoni, No.21 and Ferragamo, so prepare to see it everywhere.
HEADSCARVES
Is there any accessory as chic as a headscarf? We think not. Beautiful silk scarves reminiscent of Marilyn Monroe in the ’50s wrapped up models’ tresses at MSMG, Gucci and Max Mara. While we’re usually all about seeing the hair, we’ll make an exception for headscarves this gorg.
BANGS
Whether it’s a wispy side bang or full on fringe, expect to see bloggers, influencers, and models going for the big bang chop this fall. While the grow out can be brutal, we’ve always been a sucker for a good fringe, and love all of the options showcased in Milan. Giorgio Armani gave us slicked side bangs, Marni went all natural with texture, and Moschino delivered some uber thick bangs on Bella.
