Always a stunner on the red carpet, Amy Adams particularly wow’ed at last week’s Golden Globe Awards with a long figure-framing Versace gown complemented by striking mermaid waves that had us dreaming of Ariel, and reaching for our curling irons stat. In our efforts to recreate her perfect waves, celebrity hairstylist, Laura Polko, stepped in to walk us through refining our technique with the help of MarulaOil. Keep reading to find out how to get the look!
BEFORE
STEP 1
Apply a few drops of MarulaOil Rare Oil Treatment to the hair then work into the strands with a Paul Mitchell 413 Sculpting Brush.
STEP 2
Blowdry strands smooth with your Paul Mitchell Neuro Motion dryer and a Paul Mitchell Express Ion Round Brush for a smooth, shiny, and voluminous finish.
STEP 3
Once strands are smooth and the product is blowdried in, create a clean center parting with the end of your rat-tail comb.
STEP 4
Starting at the nape of the neck, spray large horizontal sections of hair with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray before wrapping around your Neuro Unclipped Styling Rod, starting a few inches from the scalp.
STEP 5
As you get closer to the face, start your curls closer to the scalp for more volume around the front hairline.
STEP 6
Once the entire head has been curled, spray liberally with Awapuhi Wild Ginger Finishing Spray, working the hair away from the face for more volume.
STEP 7
For added lift and support, back brush the top section of hair at the roots.
STEP 8
Tame flyaways by spraying hairspray directly on fingertips then using your hands to smooth any frizz.

Flawless curls mean red carpet ready!
