Shaved Eyebrows? These Celebs Make the Case for the Cool Look

Want to totally switch up your look with almost zero effort? Shave. Your. Eyebrows. An unlikely fashion statement, shaved eyebrows give you the opportunity to see your face as a true blank canvas, with (we’ll say it again) minimal effort. Seriously, they will be gone in about five strokes of your razor. While it might seem like a major commitment, eyebrows grow back. And with celebrities like Doja Cat and Amelia Hamlin embracing the style, how could you pass it up? Scroll below for all the shaved eyebrow inspo you need from your favorite celebs!

Doja Cat

After calling her hair struggle a “nightmare,” Doja Cat shaved her head…and kept going—officially declaring herself done with hair and making a hair statement in the process. “What is the use of having hair if you’re not going to…wear it out? I don’t even sport it, so I’m shaving it off. There’s no point. I’ve never felt so…happy, like…it’s very funny how much of an effect taking my hair off my head has positively influenced me,” she said of the big change.

Amelia Hamlin

Model Amelia Hamlin bleached her brows before saying sayonara. “That was a big one. I felt them go…I’ve been wanting to shave them,” she said of the process. Hamlin has always defended her brows and if you don’t get it, she doesn’t care. “[To] every single person that slides into my [direct messages] telling me they hate my eyebrows and that [you want to] unfollow me [because] of them…thank god they’re my eyebrows and not [yours and please] unfollow me if you don’t get it,” she said in June 2022.

Jodie Turner-Smith

Actress Jodie Turner-Smith said “bye-bye” to her brows but grew them back shortly after.

The material girl did it first. She shaved her brows back in 1992 and shocked fans. Now, she’s rocking some bleached brows.

Amandla Stenberg

It didn’t take a movie role for Amandla Stenberg to try the trend. Instead, she jumped on the TikTok bandwagon. “I just did that thing that everyone is doing now where I shaved off the end of my eyebrows because of…TikTok so I have a different eyebrow shape than usual,” she noted during a get-ready video for Vogue. “But honestly…I’m absolutely loving it,” she added.

Whoopi Goldberg

Longtime The View host Whoopi Goldberg shared why she doesn’t have eyebrows on the show this September when discussing the “no-brow” trend. “I had eyebrows as a little kid and you know how men get those bumps? I started to get them on my face so my mother removed them,” she shared. “And so I just keep doing it because I don’t know my face with eyebrows unless I’m working—they put them on and take them off.”

Ethan Peck

Ethan Peck, a.k.a. Spock from Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, shaved his brows to get in character faster. The show’s prosthetic department head Chris Bridges told Variety that doing so cut his time in the chair from two hours to 72 minutes. “I remember sitting down with [Peck] and saying, ‘Let me shave your brows. They’ll grow back. I promise,'” explained Bridges. “As long as they don’t wax them or damage the follicle, they’ll grow back.’ So, he was like, ‘All right, let’s do it.'”
