Getting a haircut from legendary impresario Sally Hershberger is on the to-do list of anyone who knows anything about the hair industry.
While that coveted opportunity is currently off the table for everyone right now, what if we told you she’d hop on a FaceTime call with you to guide you through your own DIY cut?
While we’ve adamantly steered clear from DIY ‘dos that involve scissors, we think this is a rare exception, as we’re confident Hershberger will take you through the process seamlessly as one can. The hairdresser and salon owner is offering virtual 45-minute services for $300 a pop, with 50% being donated to Direct Relief, a charity fighting the COVID-19 pandemic across the globe.
“There are many devastating aspects of this pandemic, including all of America’s beloved hair salons being shut down,” Hershberger tells Mane Addicts. “I hope that by providing virtual haircut tutorials to my clients in the comfort of their home brings them joy. I also hope that this inspires others to reach out to their hairstylists, and ask them for a tutorial. So many people are out of work right now, and every little bit helps! I’m proud to [donate] 50% of all proceeds.”
As part of “Sally Cuts for Coronavirus”—which will last until her salons reopen—she’s willing to assist anyone (not just preexisting clients) Mon. – Fri.
Aside from the fee, the only thing you’ll need to move forward
- Amateur hairstylist (you or someone staying with you)
- A pair of sharp scissors
- A few hair clips
