For a decadent beach vacation jet set to the chicest-carribbean island that is St. Barts. The french island boasts lush tropical landscapes, 22 white sand beaches, and charming stately villas providing the ultimate villa life.
While the island lives up to it’s reputation as the most elite you’ll easily find yourself caught up in the toasty warmth of the sun forgetting to protect your hair. Sun damage to your hair can manifest as split ends, faded hair color or brittle and dry hair shafts. Do your mane a favor with a few simple tricks to effortlessly protect your locks.
The sun does extra damage to strands that are already dry, so if you can remove those dead ends before your trip you’ll be in better shape.
Hair swells when it’s wet making it fragile and more prone to breakage; refrain from aggressively brushing or combing your hair when it’s damp, and opt to squeeze moisture out with a cotton t-shirt instead. Then, try using a wide-tooth comb to gently detangle your hair.
Overexposure to salt water can wreak havoc on your mane, leaving it dull, tangled, and feeling rough. Wetting your hair with leave-in conditioner before diving into the translucent waters dilutes the concentration of salt water.
On my trip, I lathered, rinsed, repeated. Be sure to embrace your conditioner to restore some of the moisture and life that was stripped away throughout the day. Conditioner completely surrounds hair strands like a customized hair envelope making the cuticle flakes fall tightly against each other and feeling smooth again.
Fringed by a tropical garden, the WIMCO villa was my home away from home, fitted with speedy wifi, home massages, and an on-site personal chef. The private deck flaunted swoon worthy views in which I readily enjoyed under the protection of a wide brim hat, my favorite way to protect my hair from the sun’s rays.
Now you are equipped to protect your hair from sun damage and prolong the health of your hair on any sunny caribbean day.
