When we think of Victoria Beckham, disheveled is not a word that comes to mind, but that’s a perfect definition for the lived-in knots created by hair guru Guido Palau for her Fall 2015 Runway collection. The look is tough yet chic, providing the perfect contrast to springs pastel colors and floral prints. Luckily, we’ve got a step-by-step guide to get the look at home, straight from Palau’s mouth to your ears eyes.
The final product may be filled with texture, but according to Palau, it’s important to start with a silky base. Start by applying Redken Satinwear 02 Prepping Blow-Dry Lotion into damp hair, then, using a strong hair dryer, blow out hair smooth. Palau recommends a BaByliss blow-dryer for its strong motor and quick dry time.
Mist fingers with Redken Foreceful 23 Finishing Spray, then, using them as a comb, begin raking back the hair to create the imperfect ponytail that serves as a base for the knot.
Secure the ponytail in the center of the head with an elastic, then create a loop by twisting the hair twice through and leaving the ends out long to your desired length. Prepare to exude ease and sophistication a la Beckham herself.
