Swap Your Dry Shampoo For Volumizing Powder

Every so often a new product category comes into our orbit, promising results we never knew we needed. Enter volumizing power.  The one product you didn’t know you needed, until now.

Volumizing powder formulas are often packed in small but mighty containers that deliver a lifting punch. Traditionally, they aren’t dispensed by aerosol containers. The wearer will sprinkle a bit of this powder at the roots, allowing the product to cling onto dry hair. For extra oomph, hair can be teased at the roots to create even more volume.

Volumizing powders can be considered a cross between dry shampoo and texturizing spray. Most formulas help absorb oil while creating more volume at the root. If you have thick or already voluminous hair, don’t ditch your old faithful dry shampoo formula yet. Volumizing powders are specifically designed for thin or flat hair types that benefit from a serious lift. If your hair tends to fall flat by the end of the day or it typically needs a middle of the day pick-me-up, then a volumizing powder is for you.

Here are a few of our favorite formulas.
