TikTok Found Another Great Way to Use Rosemary for Scalp Health and Hair Growth

Written by Olivia Cefalu

It’s no secret we find the best DIYs, beginning roots of beauty trends, and viral dupes from TikTok. Scrolling through the FYP is addicting when you keep seeing the good stuff. Let us share this week’s find: a DIY rosemary mint scalp care bar. It’s easy to make, stimulates hair follicles, and encourages new hair growth. But is it really all it’s cracked up to be? We asked an expert to find out!

About the Expert

TikTok’s Rosemary Scalp Bar

Rosemary water and its benefits for hair can be seen all over TikTok. But, we find these bars are even easier to make and use for an effective rosemary hair treatment. “Rosemary is a plant-based ingredient that can help the overall health of your hair and scalp due to its anti-inflammatory properties,” says Philadelphia-based hairstylist Annagjid “Kee” Taylor. She adds that rosemary can stimulate hair growth, thicken your strands from the roots, help increase blood circulation, improve scalp conditions, and even help reduce stress.

How to DIY a Rosemary Mint Scalp Bar

To make the DIY rosemary mint scalp bar it’s actually quite simple. You need a few ingredients and the help of a mold.

Fill a pot of water and add rosemary and mint (you can buy these at your local grocery store). Make sure it’s fresh as you’ll put the whole sprigs in the pot. After you bring it to a boil, let the mixture cool before pouring it into your special molds to put into the freezer. We found these ones on Amazon that have the massage element to them which will be perfect for stimulating your scalp.

“Anyone with thinning hair or suffering from hair loss could benefit from using rosemary to help aid in regrowth,” says Taylor. This specific mold makes four treatments. Try doing the rosemary bar twice a week. If you have time, it’s safe to do it every time you wash your hair.
